A Lovely Foundation is a woman-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to nurturing voice, creativity, and sisterhood. We exist to create intentional, beautiful spaces where women—especially women of color—are deeply seen, held, and empowered. Through writing, storytelling, and soulful gatherings, we honor each woman’s journey with care and reverence.
We believe voice is sacred. That creativity flows when women feel safe, inspired, and whole. And that sisterhood—real, loving sisterhood—is the foundation of lasting transformation. Our work is grounded in three guiding principles:
• Love — We lead with compassion, care, and connection.
• Inspiration — We awaken purpose through writing and storytelling.
• Empowerment — We encourage every woman to step into her power—with clarity, confidence, and community by her side.
• To inspire the world—one empowered voice at a time.
• To create a circle of care where women return to their truth.
• To remind her that her story is worthy, her voice is powerful, and her presence is a gift.
• To pay it forward with love—uplifting the next generation through mentorship, visibility, and creative opportunity.
A Lovely Foundation was born from one woman’s lived experience of grace. Our founder received care, guidance, and sacred support during the most tender seasons of her creative journey. Because others once held space for her voice to rise, she now does the same—for every woman longing to reclaim her own.
Growing up in the historic neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., she was nurtured by the wisdom of elders in the community and teachers who saw her, believed in her, and handed her the words of women like Dr. Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Alice Walker. Their voices lit a fire in her spirit, shaping her purpose as both a writer and an educator.
Guided by that early light, she went on to hold space for others—first in the classroom, then in community. Today, she carries that legacy forward by guiding women of impact—those who have already transformed lives. She inspires them to begin the sacred work of bringing their purpose to the page. Through their writing, they shape an impactful legacy that endures—touching lives now and for generations to come.
By inspiring in this way, she believes she can create a greater ripple of impact across the world. Alone, she cannot reach every woman—but together, we can reach thousands.
“I come as one, but I stand as ten thousand.” — Dr. Maya Angelou
This work is her love letter to the village that shaped her. She carries it forward with open hands and a full heart—offering circles, tools, and encouragement for the women coming behind her. This is her way of saying thank you. This is her way of ensuring no woman walks alone.
This foundation is her love letter to every woman who ever felt unseen. It is a circle of care—built voice by voice, story by story, in honor of those who came before and those still rising. A circle that begins with love—and never ends.
